  • How does the adoption process work?
Our adoption process begins with completing an application form, followed by a screening interview to discuss your lifestyle and expectations. If approved, we'll arrange a meet-and-greet with the dog(s) you're interested in. The final steps include a home visit to ensure it's a suitable environment and finalizing the adoption paperwork.
  • What are the fees associated with adopting a dog?
    No fees.
  • Can I adopt a dog if I live in an apartment?
Yes, many of our dogs can thrive in apartment settings. We consider each application individually and match dogs with environments that meet their needs for space and activity levels.
  • Do you require a fenced yard for adoption?
While a fenced yard is beneficial, it is not a requirement for all dogs. We evaluate on a case-by-case basis, considering the specific needs of each dog and the adopter's plan for exercise and outdoor activities.
  • What if the dog I adopt isn't a good fit for my home?
We understand that not all adoptions work out as expected. We offer a trial period for adoptions and encourage adopters to contact us if any issues arise. Our policy allows for the return of the dog to our sanctuary if the adoption does not work out, ensuring the dog's well-being is always the priority.
  • Are the dogs vaccinated and spayed/neutered before adoption?
Yes, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and receive any necessary medical treatment before they are available for adoption.
  • How can I volunteer or help the sanctuary?
We welcome volunteers! You can help by fostering dogs, assisting with events, participating in fundraising, or helping with daily care at the sanctuary. Please visit our website or contact us to learn more about volunteer opportunities. We will be most grateful.
  • Can I meet a dog before deciding to adopt?
Absolutely. We encourage potential adopters to meet the dog(s) they are interested in to ensure a good match. Meetings can be arranged by appointment after an initial application and screening process.
  • How do you assess if an adopter is a good match for a dog?
Our assessment includes reviewing the application form, conducting interviews to understand the adopter's lifestyle, and observing interactions between the adopter and the dog. We consider factors like activity level, living environment, and any specific needs of the dog to ensure a successful adoption.
  • What should I do to prepare my home for a new dog?
Preparing your home for a new dog includes ensuring a safe, secure environment free of hazards. We recommend setting up a dedicated space for your dog to sleep and relax, securing trash and household toxins, and preparing with the necessary supplies like food, water bowls, a leash, and toys. A pre-adoption home visit may be conducted to help you prepare and address any concerns.
